About an hour later, Kat knocked on the door and was followed by the guys that greeted me at the door, each taking their woman to a spot on the sectional that covered the room. Then some guy named Lil Stupid ran in, yelling, “I just found this shit, man. It is the bomb. Have you seen it yet?”

He was talking about the movie Belly with Nas and DMX. I had heard of it but never seen it. I was amped. Mike brought me a drink, and we cuddled up on the couch like everyone else. I had just met all these people, and strangely enough, it felt like I was becoming a part of something. I felt like I was joining a family.
